In recent years, active shooter situations have become more and more common, prompting Michael Julian to update his Alive Active Shooter Survival Training Program and start offering it online. With more accessibility, more individuals can learn how to keep themselves and the people around them safe in active shooter situations.

This new update helps people who want to participate in Michael Julian’s comprehensive survival program but cannot do so because of time or distance. With the online, on-demand program, the participants can choose when to have the training and for how long.
ALIVE Active Shooter Survival Training Program has four courses: the 20-minute Lightning Course, the 1-Hour Accelerated Course, the 2-Hour Power Course, and the 3-hour Comprehensive Course. All of these modules can be done online or in person, by individuals or organizations.
The 20-minute A.L.I.V.E. course is a quick tutorial on the five steps that people need to do in the event of an active shooting. Starting with an assessment of the situation, the course gives basic, easy-to-remember guidelines that keep people safe during attacks. The A.L.I.V.E. training is the foundation of all of Michael Julian’s courses.
The 1-Hour Accelerated Course talks about how to be proactively reactionary, and how the first 10 minutes is the most critical time of the attack. During these first 10 minutes, people must get to safety and call for help because these actions are statistically proven to increase their chances of survival.
ALIVE Active Shooter Survival Training Program’s 2-Hour Power Course talks about the psychology of active shooters, why they do what they do, and how to develop situational awareness. Here participants learn about warning signs and tips on how to prevent these shootings from happening.
The full module is the 3-Hour Comprehensive Course. It talks about all of the key topics discussed in the shorter courses, plus visualization and practical exercises to help participants have a deeper understanding of the lectures. The course ends with an exam, a certificate, and an opportunity to get paid by sharing the course with others.
Michael Julian is a licensed private investigator and security professional who has been in the business since he was 16. In 2014, he started teaching active shooter survival, and wrote a book about it in 2017. He launched ALIVE Active Shooter Survival Training Program in 2019.
